Venice, Giovanni Battista Pederzano, 1550. 4to. (20,3 x 14 cm). Original hand-coloured woodcut arms on title-page. 6 full-page woodcut illustrations on 3 leaves. 1 contemporary hand-coloured folding woodcut map by Giacomo Gastaldi. (8), 90 leaves. Contemporary full vellum with old title in ink on spine. Covers and spine with some worming. An old label in Italien pasted on front endpaper. Dampstained in places, mostly marginal, affecting the 6 woodcut illustrations. The map with minor foxing, but overall in excellent condition. First obtainable printed account of Russia, published in Italian one year after the Latin edition from 1549, Rerum Moscoviticarum Commentarii. The Latin edition is almost unobtainable. . .
