Omnia ab ipso Auctore in unum nunc corpus collectae et recognita. Jacobus Stoer, [Geneva] 1599. Small 8vo [12,5 x 8 cm]. [10]+VI+206+60 leaves. Illustrated with several wood cut part title leaves, as well as 44 woodcut emblematas [the last four has empty frames where the motiff should be, but this is how it was printed]. Nice full calf binding with blindtooled borders to the boards, probably late 17th/ early 18th century. Titleleaf with red ink stripes. Upper edge of boards wornand missing to pieces (10x2 mm).

* Very scarce - last auction records is from 1909! Early edition of the works of French theologian de Béze [1519-1605], who was a disciple af Calvin and a highly acclaimed head of the church in the Republic of Geneva, and also acclaimed of one of the greatest latin poets of his day. As you can see, he also was interested in the at this time young genre of emblemata, founded by Alciati in 1531.
