In the back of the book are two extendable copper plates, the one is a song in Italian with notes, the other is a family tree. Some browning throughout the book. The hinges are a bit weak. Bookplate on the pastedown (from the Danish collector Hjalmar Hartmann). Inscribed to the Danish actress Julie Rosenkilde (later Sødring) in 1843 on front flyleaf. * Contents: "Der römische Carneval", "Ueber Italien. Fragmente eines Reisejournals", "Des Joseph Balsamo, gennant Cagliostro, Stammbaum" and "Unterhaltungen deutscher Ausgewanderten". Not in the Meyer bibliography.

Filing number and date of death written on back. * 1886 - 1980. Oskar Kokoschka was an Austrian artist and poet. His first commissions were drawings for children, and in 1908 he was asked to create illustrations for a children's book, which was to be shown at the Wiener Werkstätte exhibition. Instead he made illustrations for his poem Die Träumenden Knabe, which was deemed inappropriate for the exhibition, and he was expelled from the Kunstgewerbeschule. This led him to join the Avant-Garde movement, becoming friends with Adolf Loos, who helped further his career.

Stamp with date on back [autographs obtained 1 February 2000 in Copenhagen] Framed in black passepartout [32 x 23.5 cm] with photo. * The synthesizer-pop duo Peter Shop Boys was already formed in 1981, but burst into the center of the 80's scene with the single 'West End Girls' in 1985. They became immensely popular even though they never played live - until 1989 where they started touring with a grand show.

Contemporary marbled calf with richly gilt spine, * Turenne (1611-75) was a main character in the bloody wars of the 17th century, being the greatest genius of warfare of the period and one of the best in this trade in the history of mankind. He joined the Dutch army at the age of 14, and changed sides numerous times in the turmoil of the Thirty Years' War and the period after. Of course he was killed by a cannon ball. He rests next to Napoleon in the Dôme des Invalides in Paris.

Bind 1 noget skjoldet og plettet, isæt på de første sider. Generel noget plettede bogblokke, men en lækker indbinding. * Flot sæt af Goldschmidts vældige dannelsesroman. Den havde kørt som føljeton i hans tidsskrift »Nord og Syd« i perioden 1853-57, og dette er den første udgave i bogform. Værket introducerer terminologien, som dannelsesromaner normalt blev bygget efter, nemlig »Hjemme«, »Hjemløs« og »Hjem«. Pagineringen følger disse afsnit i stedet for bindene: 180;1220;230 sider.
